My name is Kimberland Terrell Simon I am 32 y/o mother of three great children.

I reside in a small town known as Tarkington, on the outskirt of Cleveland Texas.

I have been riding since I was 3 years old. All of my memories of childhood are on horses.

I have been barrel racing for fun and training horses for about 11 yrs now. For the last 2 years I have been competing on higher level and enjoyed it. I have owned MANY nice equine athletes there all special to me from my first pony Candy to my first 1D winner Sparky. Although I have the pleasure to ride the horse I own now, His name is Rey Jays Saint he is a 15 y/o Grulla gelding. He is the most athletic, focused, dependable animal. He has more heart and try then Imaginable and I consider every trip on him a honor.

As far as wins. I never take any for granted. There is always someone out there that can beat you weather it is a AQHA World Championship or an open rodeo, anyone can win or loose.

I do run WPRA and enjoy it I do not consider myself a professional, I have a career as an operating room nurse at Methodist Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.

I respect a lot of barrel racers as for as favorites of course Martha Josey and I love to watch Tammy Fontenot (what a rider she is) but my friend Carol McGrew has helped my the most, she is great.

I feel barrel racing has came a long way in the past 5 yrs. The amount of money won and the amount of money spent on horses, rigs etc. is amazing. I feel an equal pay out for all 4 ds is fair.  Sometimes it comes down to the most expensive horse etc. and I feel everyone should get a chance even if they have to train and ride there own horse etc. besides everyone pays the same entry fees.  I have never heard anyone paying 35% if the entry fee because they only run 3Ds!!I feel everyone should get an equal chance be men or women.

I have met many wonderful people and horses in this business and hope to always give positive thoughts and ideas to anyone who is competing with me or against me.
